Controller or Hardware upgrade

Just joined up; trying to find some info. Are controllers the way to go for a little more performance and mpg, or the whole turbo/injectors route. Where can I find evaluations/reviews of products and options. Any input appreciated.

Welcome to the TDR. On this site you will find a ton of information, as well as a superb group of people. As far as power upgrades, id kind of depends on what your ultimate goal is. For me it was towing power. A little more information about your truck, also known as a signature, will help to steer you to the right products for your needs. Keep in mind that the search feature will also help tremendously.

I have a limited amount of experience, but that I that I do have I can answer your question with "In my case Yes and Yes".



I just think diesels are funny beasts. More performance often nets better MPG. As long as I don't hot rod, if I do the MPG takes a nose dive.

There are several routes to gain more power, and each has its own pros and cons. Some can gain you MPG, some won't. It all comes down to your intended use, wether it be towing, sledpulling, racing or just an all-around fun truck. Like KVic said, fill out you sig so we know what you have then figure out how you are going to use your truck then let the questions fly. There are ALOT of people on here with ALOT of experience with the Cummins engines, I can almost guarantee someone here can answer any question you have. Good Luck and welcome to TDR.
