Cool E-250 Conversion

Aluminum Wheel Cost????

My '96 E350 PSD van is in need of a new motor; I'm sick of constant overheating problems and the lack of power. Compared to my ISB, the PSD is a pathetic piece of work. The Ford has 99,750 miles so it's just about to go out of warranty, and is at the dealer right now. I'm requesting that they install a new motor, but even with a history of warranty repairs for overheating problems, I don't know if they will.

In the event that Ford refuses to install a new motor, I'm not about to pay for another POS PSD. I'm seriously looking at an ISB conversion with an Allison 5-spd auto, but I don't have the time to tackle this on my own. I'm looking for recommendations on any shops that have performed these conversions, better yet, any that have done this to an E-series van.

TIA!

Randy Bluth with Reliable Diesel in Mesa AZ. He has done over 100 conversions. Fords and Chevys mainly and more Fords than Chevys. He has done at least one Ford van that I know of. It was an 80's style f350 conversion van that only had half a box. The back half was a flat bed with a fifth wheel hitch.

Be prepared... he is difficult to get on the phone. Not avoiding calls, just busy. Most of the time I give up and show up at his shop. Once you do get his ear he'll talk your's off!
