Okay, here are the part that I have to do the dually conversion on my 1997 SWD 2500:

1. New front '96 dually rotors and used '99 3500 dually calipers.

2. Nice '01 dually bed.

3. '96 Dana 80 dually rear end

I have a few questions:

1. Should there be any surprises with the installation of any of these components?

2. Will the driveshaft need to be shortened and will the u-joint need to be changed?

3. Will the rear shocks and sway bar from the 2500 mount directly to the dually rear?

4. Any recommendations on a vendor for rear end bearing (axle, carrier and pinion), seal and clutch pack rebuild kit?

5. Have I overlooked anything?

As always, many thanks.

Steve

You will need some new emblems :)

The trucks are almost the same. There should be no problems with anything. Try Randy's ring and pinion for the parts you need for the diff...

The sway bar wont bolt on. The drive shaft will need to be shortened. Just did this about a year ago. Do you have the u-bolts and the pads for the Dana 80? They are different from the 70. The u-joints are the same. Let me know if you have any more questions or if I forgot something
