Converting Non IC 91 truck to IC

Just got hold of all the parts from an Intercooled 93 truck to convert a friends early 91 non intercooled truck to intercooler and cross flow radiator, he has been having all sorts of overheating problems when towing his 38 ft trailer, including blowing up his R134a converted A/C compressor.

He replaced his radiator with a brand new 3 row and still had overheating problems, too hot to touch on one side and cool to the touch the other.



I will be taking some photos in the conversion process if any one is possibly interested.

Are you planning on replacing the grill & radiator support? or some how shoe horning the aftercooler in with the stock grill?

Replacing the core support with the correct intercooled one, no shoe horning.

This will be done as the factory did with the correct coloured core support.



This is the same way I did my 89 truck and it works great, with only a few little problems that I came across.

Which hose was cool and which was hot? Have you ruled out a bad thermostat? Either way, seems a good idea to upgrade none the less.
