Are the any sites for converting my truck to intercooled? I know I will need an intercooler (which are best?) and the plumbing but Im unsure where to find the parts other then a junkyard. any sources? I have a few npr intercoolers but i dont think that they are wide enough to work (im away from home and cant check fit).

You could convert using a 91. 5-93 intercooler or there have been some guys using a PowerStroke I/C, it is bigger. I forget which year model at the moment. Search the Diesel Truck Resource for Power Stroke Intercooler.

The early non I/C trucks radiator support will have to be cut of course. If you could find a radiator, support and I/C it would be a nice upgrade for you. Better radiator from 91. 5-93'.

The intercooler that I picked up for my 93 was a 99 Ford Power Stroke. Have not put it in yet, but it is bigger and should fit.

Why Not (Chris)

I believe it is 99'-2004' power stroke I/C that people are using. The first few years of that generation I/C have aluminum side tanks, the later ones had plastic side tanks. 3" in/out on them.

I Used a intercooler out of a 2nd gen 98-02 truck in my 91. You have to cut holes in the sheet metal behind the grill to make it fit and fab up a way to support it too. If you have AC the condenser is in the way to make it fit behind the stock grill. My condersor went bye bye. the AC didnt work anyways. Not sure if the transmission cooler on a auto would be in the way. I purchased my intercooler from a local radiator shop for $350-$400 new in the box. Not sure what plumbing would fit up to it. Mine is all going to be custom when the new turbo and intake go on. Good luck Caleb
