Converting to the rear window defrost

When I bought my truck it was already equiped with the sliding rear window, which I don't really have a use for on a quad cab. I was wondering if the vehicle wiring harness is already equiped with the wiring to support the hookup and operation of the optional rear window defrost which is a one piece glass. If all I have to do is to replace the rear window and install a switch in the factory location, then I am considering going forward with the project.



Just seeing if anyone out there is in the know about some details to do this.

I would like to know this as well. The dealer screwed up my order and I ended up with neither the slider nor the rear defrost window. I screamed like bloody murder and they claim that it will cost them over $1,100 just in parts to replace my plain window for the rear defrost window. I told them I didn't really care what it would cost them since it wasn't my problem. They are going to try to do a dealer trade for a truck with the correct window and swap them out. I haven't heard back from them in about 10 days though. They screwed up the steering wheels controls I wanted too. They have agreed to swap steering wheels for me as well.

I am in the process of gettiing an air bag switch put on my quad cab. I would like to get the rear window defogger also but I may be out of luck. I got the truck off the lot and it did not have a rear window defogger or a slideing rear window. If the wireing was aready there I would consider replaceing the plain rear window with one that has the defogger. My truck has heated mirrors but no rear defogger. The truck also does not have the lamp that comes on when you open the hood. I found it hard to believe that the lamp is an optional item that was not included on my truck. The lamp they could order. The wiring from the lamp to the plug on the firewall they were not sure they could get.
