Lake Mills, WI - VW TDI GTG

Fuel locations in S.W. Ohio / Tristate?

I am planing a cookout and repair day for Saturday Oct 2nd. Kick off time is planed for 8:00 A. M.

Anyone is welcome. I just need RSVP's a week in advance to get food items lined up. If anyone wants to pitch in food items it will be welcome. I am furnishing the hamburgers and hotdogs.

People wanting to do repairs. Bring parts and try to limit the work to what can be done in a one day. Parts on Saturdays in my area will be hard to find after 12:00. There will be some tools and a couple of experienced people there. I will have a welder and torch there also.

If you are interested post here. I will pm directions to the meeting place a week or so before the event. It will be held at Case500D's house. If you want to mapquest to find out how far. Peru, In is the name of the town.

I guess I will be there. The only thing I ask is that no one brings a Ford. That would just run the neighborhood into the gutter. Hope everyone can make it.

Put me down as a MAYBE. I was thinking about requesting some time off over that period anyways. Might be nice to bring the rig down that way and possibly spend a night or two at Ceraland also?

Hey Jeremy (Case500D), how big is your place? Just wondering if it's OK to bring my lab and let him have some room to stretch his legs.

MD,

There is plenty of room for your lab to run (120 acres and . 2 miles off the road). Just make sure he can tell aluminum rims from steel rims. Then he can hike on Philip's rims and not mine. :D

I'll do some checking. There is one close. But I think it is for perminate camping only. No overnighters. There used to be a KOA to. I'll have to check on it. I'll know something in a couple of days for you.

You thinking of bringing the conversion down?

Philip,

I went to Woodalls' website, and found a Place in Peru called the "Honey Bear Hollow Family Campground". I'm sure it'll suffice for our needs. :)

Yes, I plan on bringing the Travco down. Hoping someone there will be willing/able to help me do a little pump tinkering.

There is a Best western on the south west side of Peru on US31. It is about 6 miles out from Case500D's house. Phone # is 765-473-8800

Don

The camp ground you found is the KOA or it used to be.

Tooo Bad!

It's a shame i can't make it that weekend. I'll be in the process of moving that weekend. I'll try and see what i can do. Don how much longer before the ol' travco is done ??? finally get the exhaust done or what ?

Curtis,

Believe it or not, the Travco project is winding down (finally!) Oo. . The engine is now running, but Karen and I have several little nitpicky things that need to be done before it can be driven again. Feel free to PM me if you want to hear all the particulars (I don't wanna jack Philips' thread. :().

Looks as though I might be going, Philip you took off early last week, did you and Jeremy hit the gun show? I had dieselman359, I think is his nickname, Chris from St. Louis area with me, wanted to meet you two. He wants to go, told him to have DP drive up from the swamp to St. Louis area and ride with Chris to the Hoosier.

We left around 3:00. We got to the truck around 2:00 and wouldn't you know it a guy from TN had just pulled in. He had that red Converted dually that was parked in front of us in the next row. We talked to him about an hour. He might join the TDR. He has been lurking for a while. He knew our log in names when we told him.

We hit the gun show.

I hope Chris and DP can make it.

Did you meet the guy with that white 1st gen that dynoed so low? He was only getting 120 HP to the ground. His engine didn't sound crisp or anything. It was laying down bad.
