Woah... .....
My dog loves HIS TRUCK!... ... ... .
He is a Cairn Terrier and I can't pry the little **** out of my truck.
He will sit and sleep in it all day. He particularly likes the middle bench and my wife and I have declared it HIS!
My wife took up weaving (Navajo style) as one of her crafts. Damn if I didn't get sucked in, built my own loom and made the dog a rug for his seat.
This is a new product and anyone who would like one for his dog, just let me know. I will custom make one for you for only $500... ... ..... This will earn me $. 50 an hour and you are guaranteed amateur work.....
Any takers?
Ron... ... ... .

Hey Ron,

For 500 bucks I want to see a photo!!!!!

Too late for mee. We have a minature Dachshund who has declared her throne as the center console. Another TDR friend made us an upholstered pad that attaches with velcro straps to the top of the console lid so it won't be so slick. Now she rides there and watches for pedestrains, bikers(both pedaling and motorized), highway construction workers, and especially flag persons to bark at to warn us.

Those dogs are worse than kids!!!! Not spoiled either!!!

Hey Ron,
We've got a Birddog,Birddog mix,Great Dane, and a Blue Tick Coonhound. Hell, we look like a gypsy caravan going down the road. Told the wife, if this keeps up I'm going to have to find a gooseneck dog trailer to haul dogs... That's an idea... Dog hauling business.
I think I just found justification for my diesel. Ha!

You guys aren't alone. I ordered a new quad cab truck so my lab could ride in the cab with us when we travel across the country this summer. If it wasn't for the dog I probably would have kept my 92 reg cab.
At least that sounds like a good excuse for buying a new truck doesn't it. #ad

Try pulling Dalmation hair out of the upholstery. What a pain. I roll down the passenger window about 6" so she can poke her head out. Then she decides to stand on the window switch & put it in the up position. Holy panic as there is 4 legs flailing as the window is cutting off air #ad

We have two poodles, they are/were a major justification for the switch from the '96 CC to the '01 QC with fancy full length running boards. #ad
After all, now we don't have to lift them around the seats. #ad
(The major conversation while on the road is me saying very harshly: "Get in the back" as one or both try to get in my wifes lap over the console.

When we have the fiver in a campground the eldest, 16 years, goes to the truck and whimpers to be let in so she can sleep there as opposed to her bed in the trailer. She just loves the truck and she has transfered her affection to the new one.

All is well.

Same here as Diese1 nut. I have the new Quad Cab for my 85lb. lab. Only mistake I made was not getting the rear slider. He has expressed some interest in the 2002 Crew Cab. Hmmm, yeah thats it!

I know what you mean, fellas! We bought a Club Cab back in '97 for our dogs. Don't know if it is the truck that attracts so much attention going down the road or our three dogs - a 5-yr old "Lassie" Collie named Jak, a 130 lb. 8-yr old retired show "Rotten-weiler" named Hailey, and an ever rambunctious 2-yr old shelter Choc. Lab named KoKo. We had to put a topper on the back bed because the Rottweiler takes up the whole back seat and won't budge. She makes the Collie stand up. Ha! Ha! We don't need a security system with the Rottweiler on board as she is very scary looking - but sweet as an angel and trained as a therapy dog, as well. As our two kids starting growing up and moving out - I knew my wife needed something else to "mother" and our dogs are not pets - they are family.

Doc, Forrest and others,
Dog hair! I been fighting dog hair all my life. The little suckers are expert weavers and put the best Navajo weavers to shame. I did find a solution that works best for me. I use a stiff brush (like one you would wash your tires with), I "comb" the upohlstery and carpets with it and it pulls out gobs of previousy un-vacuumable hair. Then I clean the brush with a hair brush. Try it, it saves lots of time... ... ... .
One little dog at a time is all I can handle!
Good luck,
Ron

Ron,
I'm right with ya on the dog hair. My bird dog is one big hair deposit. To get it out I vacuum it and run a lint roller over it. The roller is the kind thats made of masking tape and you have to tear the sheets of it. It works better than anything else I've tried.

I have an afagan hound that loves to lay in my truck. I always thought it was because he was hoping he'd get to go somewhere. After reading this thread i feel there may be more to it than that! Guess he's got good taste... . like his dad!

gee i thought it was just me , my to white footballs (as i like to call them) love to ride in the truck and are always fighting over who wants to sit in my lap while driving , since my back seat is usually up with all my junk on the back floor ... i keep a big blanet in the back so they don't mess up the leather seats , and boy do they love it when i turn on the seat heater , but i got the leather so i would have to worry about hair stuck in the seats , they are bichon frise and have hair instaed of fur , easier to vacuum up and easier on the allergies ... the only part they don't like is walking up to the truck when its running , will probably take a little for them to get used to the hummin'cummins compared to how quiet my 98 1500 was ... yes they are in control #ad
