Hey guys

Since I have the lovely 53 :{ , thinking there ought to be some kind of additive

I should be adding to the radiator to fight this problem.

Does any one know of any ?

Changing coolant, and thought this would be a good time to check.

I think I read that its the silicates in the coolant and the minerals in the water.

Just think there could be more that a guy could do. :(

thanks for any replies  and keep your tailgate up

The only additive to prevent the headache is a new block. A coolant additive will not help as the problem is not a cylinder to coolant dilemma rather a thin external casting that you have no control over. Ride it till it cracks, maybe you will get lucky and the block will live a long life.
