Coolant Additive from royal purple

Talk about late to the party, the last entry in this thread was in 2007!



I looked on the Royal Purple web site but there was no listing about how much Purple Ice to add. <BR> I called them and the rep at the other end told me, 1 OZ of Purple Ice per quart of coolant. <BR>

I've seen the manual indicate 28 quart capacity (5. 9L) so it looks like a I'll need a little more than 2 - 12OZ bottles to add to the system. <BR> At $15 a bottle at my local NAPA store, that's pretty pricey, for an additive ( to me at least) .

I was told from my local Cummins dealer that I should to to CAT and get there coolant. Apparently it is a waterless coolant and it is rated for 600,000 hours of use. Have any of you guys tried this coolant he is referring to? My friend put it in his 01 and if having good luck with it but I wouldn't mind any second opinions.

Evans makes a waterless coolant too. I think one of the problems when converting is the system has to be dry. In other words, no ethylene glycol can be in the system. $43. 00 a gallon

I have and it works great! It was a requirement in my Ford Diesel. What it does is reduce cavitation (which causes air bubbles resulting in uneven cooling and possible engine damage).



It worked great for me!

I dont believe cavitation is an issue on the ISB motors!!!
