Hmmm, I still have my 'old school' radiator flushing tee's that were installed in the heater hoses. With careful attention/control of garden hose pressure attached to the heater return hose & a shorter length for discharging, attached to the heater inlet hose, we felt we were getting the job done nicely, and back flushing the heater core.

1-we removed the thermostat
2-added something like a quart of Prestone Radiator Flush
3-placed cardboard or large rags to block off radiator air flow
4-run engine for 10 minutes
5-unclamp the far end of the "discharge" hose onto the floor drain/parking lot
6-slowly turn on the water hose & let'er rip.

Anyway, thanks to all for your time & effort in these write-ups. Got me to thinking when I last had the cooling system flushed???

Just did a coolant flush on my 2005 today per AH64ID methods, including the thermostat mod, and the old fluid came out CLEAN everytime, but lighter and lighter in color....I only flushed it four times and hit the point of diminshing returns. I am waiting to refill until I finish installing the coolant filter/bracket tomorrow, as well as change all the oem radiator hoses over to Mr Bobs silicone hoses. Using 5/8" Mr Bobs silicone hose and brass fittings to plumb the filter/bracket mounted just in front of the passenger front wheel and behind the bumper, also according to his instructions. THANKS for the write-up!!!!
