not in my truck but it was a factory installed option on my mercedes... I've got about 15 of them laying around if your intrested...

Just has 1/2 pipe for the coolant and 3/8 for the fuel line if I remember correctly

The heat exchange unit from my auto is still hanging around. I guess I could run my fuel line in where the transmission hoses went. :-laf

Seriously though, I did take my fuel heater out of my pre-filter due to air leaks. Would there be a benefit to running the fuel through the heat exchange unit? Would it be something I would want to run year-round?

Big trucks run coolant heated fuel heaters. But they tend to be in the tanks. They have shut off valves for the summer months. Don't wanna heat up fuel in the summer not good.

Coolant is free heet. Its already there. Why waste it? Then only to produce it with electricty. Its just to inefficient and waste full.

It takes power to gererate electricity. Meaning working the motor just a tad more. While shortening the life of your alternator.

Right now I do just about anything to help out in mileage. Plus the savings on maintenance.

Eric I sent you a check awhile ago for the heater and haven't gotten anything yet. . . have you been getting my PMs? :(

This cold weather has got me to thinking about exhaust heated coolant. Just enough to git'r up to normal temps really quick so I'll have some heat. Probably not practical or safe cuz you'd have to have a bypass and a pop off valve in case things got too toasty. I'm always thinking about off the wall crap... . :-laf

I , also send him a ck. . figured he will get back to me in a day or so but??

no anwser on PM either?

got to make a man think... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Well, like I said in another post, why couldn't you get a windshield washer heater setup, and use it to heat the fuel ?? it is battery operated (off the truck battery) and you could plumb it so the fluid heats the fuel. it would give youheat right away to help with starting. You won't be able to use coolant until the engine warms up, and by then. you most likely don't need it.

Sorry for the delay fellas. . I've been SUPER busy.

rfull, I never received your check... if you trace the check you will see that it was never cashed... please PM me so we can clear this up perhaps you put the wrong address on the envelope or something. .

Vaughn I'm glad you like the heater. I thought you guys would like them they seem like a very well put together unit.
