I have an 01 with a six speed transmission. I see coolant coming out around of an exhaust manifold bolt. Its the farthest back bolt on the bottom.

Does this bolt's thread go into the water jacket?

And if so should there be some sealant on the threads to stop the leak.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

You sure it is not coming from a port above the manifold? Right on the top of the head above the manifold, there is coolant plugs... . or it might be coming from one of the heater hoses and dripping on the manifold... . If it IS coming from the manifold bolt, maybe the head is cracked between the coolant passage and the bolt threads... .

Ok I found out where the leak is now and it was a freeze plug just like EricBu12 mentioned.

Its a small freeze plug about 3/8 inch in diameter located adjacent to the bolt area I mentioned.

I had the truck towed to the dealer who will do the repair work, and they tell me it is warranty work. My warranty runs out on May 1, 06.

I bought this truck 5 months ago with 27k miles, and I thought it was going to be maintenance free for a while. But there has been a fuel leak, air leak coolant leak and new lift pump. Soon as I fix one thing another thing pops up.

This is my first Dodge and I hope things improve!
