I walked out to my truck today and noticed a puddle under my truck. looked closer noticed it was coolant, then looked up and noticed it was dripping from the bellhousing. obviously it is coming from some where else other than the bellhousing. I recently had the HVAC system out for the blend door repair. possibly this is coming from a heater core related issue. anyone else experience this issue? this is on a 2006 with 35k on it.

check under your exhaust manifold, by the block there is a coolant tube with a short run of hose like 4" , alot of our trucks came with the hose clamps loose on that hose. you can see it best from under the truck.

hope this helps.

looks like it is weeping from the little flex hose under the exhaust man. took into the dealer to have them pressure test. they only found a bad radiator cap. i will tighten the clamps myself and see what happens. what is the cooler that is behind the fuel filter setup? is that oil or trans cooler? thanks for the help.

It is a transmission cooler. Notice the cooler lines from the transmission and then forward to the air cooler.

RIP

just got truck back from dealer, they said in repair order:

pressure tested system to 80 psi, found no leaks in system. radiator cap failed pressure test, replaced with new cap.

my question is 80 psi sounds a bit high to test a cooling system to. can this blow something out in the system?

Don't bother with the dealer and just tighten the clamps. The hose is as said, about 4" long, tucked behind the turbo. It should have a silver heat sleeve around it. Just give the clamps a turn or two. Also they never leak hot, just cold.

TDR Brethren-

I just experienced the same leak and found the hose clamps to be loose. I had actually read about this a few months ago and didnt check the clamps (should have). It wasnt until this morning that I saw a puddle under my truck and the first place I looked was the hose... ... ... sure enough it was loose!!! Not sure who originally posted this topic but here is a glass raised up for finding the problem. GOT TO LOVE TDR!!!!
