I just had Scrub a Dub flush and replace my coolant. They told me they use a diesel compatible coolant but I a little nervous now. Does anyone know if I'm Ok or do I need to redo the flush. Thanks. I'm driving an 06, 5. 9L

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention that Scrub a Dub is a regional "quick lube/service" place. They assured me that they use diesel compatible coolant but I'm getting nervous now.

The coolant is reddish pink in color. I'll have to check if Dexcool is compatable. Thanks for the help and any additional thoughts are appreciated.

Before you go to the trouble of draining it again, why don't you go to the place and ask them what brand or type of coolant they used??? If they put the wrong coolant in then make them put the right stuff in.

Per their website they use Dexcool. If I had more time I would do that but I'm heading out of town for a deer hunt and need it done today. Leaving now to get it taken care of. Last time I trust the youngsters at a franchise shop and I WILL be contacting them at some point. Thanks for the advice.

Yes, I stand corrected. I had a sense that what I was posting was not exactly right but was in the right direction and I couldn't drudge up anything better from memory.

This has been bantered about a good bit on this site. You should use a HOAT coolant, which the Zerex G-05 is. Dexcool is an OAT coolant (I believe) and the chemistry is different. You can't always go by color. The factory MOPAR coolant is pink-ish, but it's a HOAT coolant. The Zerex is more of a peach color (yeah, I know peach is a fruit, not a color :) ).
