Anyone running aftermarket rims?

Turn signal/wiper switch

My water pump started leaking after 4 years (gates brand Im pretty sure). I now have a dayco, they recommend a flush before install. Is Prestone Flush Solution acceptable for the 5.9L?

Sorry for that, it seems that Genos doesnt carry the recall Pump anymore. That was such a bargain.

Gates Water pump for that truck is 50 bucks from Geno's..

same pump is 36 bucks on Rock.. and if you are a real cheapskate they have no name water pump available for $11.51. no sense in paying 200 bucks for what is a generic piece of legacy equipment.

you can flush a cooling system with citric acid and water if you have it available ( I use citric acid in my water softener but any cooling system flush will work.)

Hmmm, I just put a Geno's Gates pump on my truck.
Ran plain water till I got around to changing the pump.
Started leaking when we were camping in central PA & an ole timer told me to loosen the rad cap so no psi would build. This drastically reduced the leak so we could get home. Though for-sure I was going to have my 1st tow....

Are you saying the new pump started leaking?

No, the old one leaked. Bearing wear.
Prob replaced that one 8yrs ago.
Bought my 04 brand new. I've probably went through 3 water pumps in it in 230,000 miles, including the original. The original lasted the longest. The second one was a Gates and I don't remember it lasting real long. Maybe a couple years.
I used to have issues with the belt and the tensioner failing. Since having the engine rebuilt after a valve seat dropped, I made sure the installer lined the pulleys up perfectly. Haven't had that issue since.
