2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Coolant Temp Gauge ??

Hi,

I have a 1999 2500. My water temp gauge sometimes does not show the temp. . It will stay pegged to the right on 0 till I thump around the glass over the gauge sometime. The warning light is not coming on, so I think the temp sesor must be working, just in the gauge in the dash. has anyone ever had this type of problem?? What should I check?? It is intermititant. . the worst kind of electrical problem to have. . Where is the short??

My 94 did that and it wound up being the connector that goes into the printed circuit on the back of the cluster, I have also had the printed circuit itself burn out. Its certainly up top if you can hit the glass and it starts to work like that tho. . Good Luck. .
