Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Coolant Temp Sensor

i think either my thermostat is sticking halfway open or my sensor is going bad. i am running at around 160 with the AC on here in florida about 90-95 degrees outside. it usually runs up to 190 then back down when the Thermo opens and up and down. but now it goes from 150-170 and back. i hope its my thermostat because a new sensor is 114$ friggin BUX !!! any ideas? i will change the Thermo out tomorrow.

most likely a thermostat. paid like 40 bucks at napa.

yeah just got mine it was 20 from advance. the only thing that is weird is that the temp still fluctuates but it is really low. will find out tomorrow when i change it.

well the thermo that was in the truck was a 180 and the new one is 195 do you see a big problem with this?
