Can anyone reccomend a good one?

I like the idea of cooldown based on EGT if possible. I have had bad luck with BD's and I am looking for a replacement option.

Jim:

What kind of problems did you have with the BD CDT? I have one, as does a buddy, and I'm wondering if there's something I need to watch for. I haven't driven a lot since installing it.

Have you contacted BD's forum about yours?

Dan

i have a built in one in my truck alarm , alllows me to choose how long i want it to stay on , i have it set up for 2 minutes and it allows my exhaust temps to come down to 265 - 300 degrees , works well , tst has one also

Well Dan I am on my third one via warrantee. Various problems always resulting in the thing not working. One quit after about a week, the last one took about a month. I have no clue whats up with them. When they work they work very well then they just up and quit.

My dealings with BD's customer support has been excellent, but I would like to find something a bit more reliable if I could.

Yeah, if I go strictly the timer route I think that I will go ahead and get a remote start box with that has the cool down feature. The cost is not a whole lot more.

I there is some that work off timers? not egts. . I love my BD cooldown wish i would have got it years ago. It would be hard to live with out it.

$100

This is the one i have APEXI.

It can be set from 10 sec. to 10 minutes, it also reads voltage

And a pretty easy install

My friend has one but he got it with the edge juice. I don't know if he got it seperate or what but it's pretty good, I don't think he's had any problems with it. Can you get one if you have a comp box, that is easy to install?

I could never get my BD timer to work. BD customer service advised that due to the Thermo on my SPA gauge being "amplified" that it would not work with there box. Didnt feel like putting in 1) a new EGT gauge or 2) a new thermo specifically for the timer, so I just sit in my truck for the 30 seconds that it takes to get under 300.

Yeah it has me truly stumped. BD tells me that these things are generally very reliable. Not sure if just got 3 bad ones in a row or what. The wiring is really straight forward and I have re-checked it 3 times.

I have my TST powered off the stay alive wire (ECM power) so that I don't throw map codes every time I shut down. But thats about the only thing abnormal in my set up. It is connected to my post turbo EGT T/C which also goes to a EGT gauge.

I really miss it. Compared to waiting for cooldown this device is really nice.

I bought my juice/attitude used... do you know where I could order the timer for my attitude? I can't find it anywhere on Edge's website, nor can I find anything about it in the literature that came with the attitude.

I looked through the whole manuel and there is not a cool down timer for the 2004's (that i see)

there is one on the juice/addt. for the 99- I think 2000 or 2001

here is the Lit. you were looking for 2004. 5 LIT.

Yeah, I had that literature, but I couldn't find anything about a cooldown timer - looks like it is only on the 2nd gen models.

I believe that the Edge Attitude Cool Timer function is only available on the 2006 and up 3rd Gen Dodge Cummins.

The Cool Down Timer feature on my TST PowerMaxCR R49 is great. Set to EGT and/or Time. Mine is set to 300* EGT and 3. 5 Minutes Auto Mode. It shuts down when the first parameter is reached, in my case EGTs get to 300* in about 1 minute most of the time. I have become so use to it, it was painful when I had the TST off a couple of days doing some testing on other mods.

We have that function on our 99

I was referring to the 3rd gen Juice/Attitude. Cool Down timer was not available on 03 - 05 Juice/Attitude at least not when I owned mine. Pretty sure on 3rd gens it is 06 and maybe up.

Thats what I thought do you know where I could get one that is cheap and easy to install. But I have the comp. And my truck takes about two minutes to cool down to 350 and it gets old waiting for it.

Do you want to know where you can get a timer cheap or the juice with addt. cheap??

if you just want a timer, i use this one APEXI (like stated above in post #7) It was only about $100. 00
