I decided I wanted remote start and looked around the Bulldog Security Deluxe 500 had every thing I wanted Wait to start... Turbo cool down, and other features I really need to look into (rolldown the windows, etc) 199. MSRP I found it on Amazon for $130 and change. Hooked up most of it myself, but took it to a shop for the door locks. Very pleased so far.

Does it work on all different year trucks??

ya Gotta link for it??

If you need a good alarm sys.

I wanted a good two way alarm sytem and opted for the Vipor. It includes a remote start that can be wired to work with a timer or the temp light. A cool down is also included but I believe it is limited to an ajustable timer. A nice package for my needs.

fwiw I installed a BD CDT about two months ago and no problems at all.

I have ISSPRO EGT which uses amplifier box, but the sensor for CDT

installs directly across the thermocouple, before the amplifier box.

All works fine, and I didn't notice any difference in EGT gauge after

adding the CDT sensor across the thermocouple.

Esp. in warm weather the EGTs can take significant time to get

down below 350 or so. It's so nice to be able to hop out and

walk away- cumulative time saved !

Well... .

I just lurched my 5th (and last) BD Cooldown Timer. This one lasted 3 days. My truck hates them and they hate it. For the record, the folks at BD Power have been top notch standing behind their product.

The Brite Box Model is a bit spendy and does not use EGT.

Anyone tried this model?

Thanks;

Jim

The best one is you. It just takes a few seconds for your EGT to drop to 300. To each his own, that is what I do.

Not in my neck of the woods, it can take 5-10 minutes in the heat of summer! Even in the winter it still takes 1-3 minutes depending on the driving I have been doing.

Jim,

Get a Juice w/attitude to stack with your Smarty and you will have an excellent turbotimer as well as gauges and more power.

Yeah, a 300F pre turbo shutdown can leave the turbine pretty damn hot at times and you never know it unless you have a post turbo EGT like I did for a bit. It takes quite a while to pull down that temperature. I think allot of people don't realize how long it really takes even after the pre turbo EGT has dropped past 300F.

Sometimes... .

Lately...

I wished I had bought the Juice instead of the TST.

It's only money...

You might want to check out the alarm systems available in your area. The system I bought gives me a two way alarm system, remote start, cool down timer, and an auxillery feature of you choice. I used the aux button to turn on the lights that are installed in my capper.

Do these come with a bypass feature? I can see a cop (or some authority) telling me to shut it down now and having to say "sorry, I can't, timer is running" or some such thing.

with the juice with additude for the 99's and im sure all of them, just tap the fuel pedel and it will shut off

some you tap the brake

with the timer i use you have to do it manually by holding down a button for about 3 secs
