I locked my keys in my truck (really weird because I have keyless  )

So I called the police lol

Well after an a hour of waiting he finally shows up. Told me this wasn't a priority issue  (as if him chasing down some murderer or rapist was a priority compared to my ordeal :-laf ).

Anyways he makes me sign a damage waiver than comes back and says he doesn't have a door wedge in his car. He then asks me if i have a screw driver and a metal clothes hanger. I grab a screw driver out of my toolbox and we get a hanger from an employee at the Best Buy I was at.

He sticks the screw driver between the top of the door and the body and pushes enough to make a small gap and then hit the power door unlock with the hanger. In under a minute he opened it and made me look like an idiot (didn't help I was lecturing to my buddy how hard it is to unlock newer vehicles blah blah blah)

Anyways In the end I offered him a donut and told him to take a hike (just kidding). Lesson Learned: These trucks are tooooo easy to break into!

OMG!! :--) I have to try that just to see for myself, that is awful.

:-laf :-laf :-laf Thanks for the laugh and useful info Dave.

When my wife locked us out at the lake, I found it was very easy to break in through the camper window on mine. It took a minute, only because I was trying not to scratch anything else. The side windows on extended cab are too easy as well.

Silly me I just get a key made and keep it in my wallet :D I have locked my keys in my old '95 Ram enought times to have learned that lesson (Even if I could "break-in" with nothing more then a piece of #10AWG THHN) :-laf :-laf :-laf

Friday night I picked up my daughter, put her in the truck and closed the door, I always lock her door when I put her in, I had locked my door when I got out. So I was standing there, truck running, baby in the truck, a friend of a friend is a policeman in town so he came over with a slim jim and had it open in about 10 minutes, only problem was in using it he disconnected the locking rod on the inside of the door. Got in the truck, got home, took the door apart reattached the locking rod and it is all set. He had a really hard time getting the slim jim to work, I had not thought of trying to go in through the door seal I would have been afraid of damaging the paint, worst case I was prepared to break out the center panel in the rear sliding window, thankfully I did not have to, only bad part was my wife found out and she is having a little too much fun with it.

If things have not changed breaking a glass on the sliding rear window requires a new assembly. Not just the broken glass section. The whole deal.

Unlock Quick

I am a auto transporter and I fined a lot of cars with the keys locked in them. I can open most any car in under 5 min. They now sell a rod / wire thing with a fiber optic light on the end of it so you can work in the dark, with no flash light.

I saw the same thing on my cousin's Duramax. They used a thing that looked like a blood presure cuff between the top of the door and the cab and just stuck a rod inside and hit the electric door lock. Done in no time. I was shocked!!

Just goes to show that locks are for keeping honest people honest. I too can get into my truck with a coathanger and a wire cutter. With the wing windows, they are very easy to open, then reach down and hit the power locks.
