Being a police officer has to be a tough job. I don't envy the possition they are put in every day. (split second decisions that are second-guessed for months or years after by everybody else, for example) For the most part, I feel they do a good job.
I think with mods that make a vehicle stand out, you need to be a bit more careful to stick to the rules. Things like muffler removal have you jumping into the go pedal a little harder at times (or more often) so you get the reverse effect, and stand out even more.
Personally, I don't like the harsh "bark" of a straight piped truck. (OK, I like it, but I wouldn't want to drive it everyday thru town or have my next-door neighbor own one) My 94 is tuned for power without smoke. I get a little puff starting outand a light haze at WOT, but nothing like the black thick clouds I saw at Muncie. Again, cool to see, but I don't want it for my own. (or my nieghbor upwind
)
I have mufflers, no "performance" stickers, and keep the smoke down. Hopefully I won't be singled out for a ticket.
