Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Correct Band Adjustments??

I need help with the front and rear Band adjustments. I serviced my transmission on my 96 two weeks ago and adjusted the bands to the instructions on the factory service manual. Friday I started to service the company's 97 flat bed after complains of no start in park and transmission slipping. I dropped the pan and found the band anchor stuck to the magnet. Drop the VB install the anchor and proceeded to adjust the bands (I know the transmission could be damage). To my amaze the adjustments are different: Torque to 72 lbs in and, 96 - Front 2-7/8 back, Rear 2 back... 97 and 98 - Front 1-7/8 back, Rear 3 back. Are these now the new adjustments or are there others that work better??? Should I change my adjustments or wait for the next service? Pablo
