I figure my severe wheel hop is due to the back brakes having not been working thus heating up the fronts heavily... . and warping the rotors. I went to the parts house to order new rotors and there are two choices for the dana 60 3/4 ton truck. Does anyone know off hand which rotors I will be using ??? The book specifies a weight as well as serial # off the rotor itself. I don/t want to take off the rotors until I have the new in hand! If anyone has done this any help is appreciated. baron

jellermeyer, I have not had to deal with my fronts yet but know from doing rears that if I did not state to parts people that it was for a heavy duty i. e. diesel truck I ended up with light duty parts instead of the right pieces hth bill

Well, for what it's worth the service manual says the diesel trucks came with Bendix rotors, while the non-diesel 3/4 ton trucks came with lighter duty Dodge rotors.

FWIW My local parts house ordered the two possibilities for the dana 60 front end and upon inspection it turns out the correct ones are 1 1/2 " thick compared to the others which are 1 3/8" thick. Very heavy duty rotors it seems..... baron

I got these from local Car Quest parts house... ... part # 5563 brake rotor. (about $75 each) ... ... ..... baron

I got mine at autozone for $47. 99 each part #5563. I am now having some problems with my brakes squeaking but i'm working that problem in another post.

Our trucks have the 4500# axle, almost all non-diesel trucks that were 3/4ton came with the 44HD in the front and not the D60. In order to get the 60 in the front of a gasser it had to have the snow plow package. People don't understand how rare a Dana 60 front axle in a dodge is, to find out just how rare they are try to find a housing or other parts. PROTECT that baby.

Rotor Part Number

The OEM part number for front rotors is 4428063.

I have a spare slightly used pair on the shelf, if you need any measurements PM me.

My rotors came from NAPA. There are a couple really sharp guys at my local NAPA, and they asked for the front axle rating, which is on the label in the door jamb.

You're right Dfeland, I can buy a used rearend around here for $50 sometimes, but try buying a Dana 60 front. Typically, it is $1000, thanks to the demand of truck pullers and us darn Jeepers. :D
