Cost for Allison swap?

"Rekabeka" posted he went from CO to FL for an Allison swap to his (formerly - manual trans) 2005 CTD,
due to a bad knee.
Replies asked how bad it hurt - - *NOT* his knee, LOL - the cost of the swap!!

Maybe he (or someone else in the know) would divulge that info. (For me would be a 2005 w/48RE).

Wouldn't want to post incorrect info.

*If* you would seriously consider the swap - a phone call would be the best -and easiest- way to go.
Get the price/cost direct from the shop - better than an internet forum.

Not that there aren't transmission issues, but it's ironic that I watched a video a week or so ago of a duradud guy swapping to a built 48RE. Go figure.

For drag racing the 48RE is hard to beat and can be built super strong for less then an Allison but daily driving the Allison wins all day long.
