Something came up and hit my chrome grill on my 2001 dually and damaged the grill and honey comb behind it. How much is the grill and is the honey comb a seperate item? Thanks:D

PS any good online parts houses? Should I get the Genos Sweet Tooth grill? How do they fit? Do I need new honey comb behind it?

According to the estimate I have sitting here from State Farm on my truck it's $243 for the chrome grill. I'm buying a sport grill to replace it and it's $400 at the dealer  . They sure are proud of em.

Hey Steve - you sure that thing isn't gold plated? For $400 it ought to be, huh? They must be proud of it, but ought to be ashamed to charge that much.

Diesel Dog - the sweet tooth is a matter of personal preference. I've seen them on a few trucks and the fit looks good. IMO the stock one is better. Hopefully someone will reply with an after market source. Mine is all scratched up from the dealers prep kid - he must have used a scotch brite pad to get the bugs off?:{ they covered it up with rubber treatment and I didn't notice till I was home, two states away. Oh well.

I've seen them on eBay pretty cheap. Might try there or your local automotive recycling facility. (Had to be more specific--junkyard fits for both :D )

Grille

An aquaintance of mine backed into someones Dodge and broke the grille, he priced it at the dealer and then ordered one from an after market catalogue for less than $50. 00. The honeycomb is an integral part of the grill, I got his old broken one for the honeycomb, thought I would try to make some inserts for the holes in the bumper. He runs a small truck salvage in Kauntz Tex. I can get his phone # if you wish. bg

Thanks guys for your help I'll ask the local dealer. I kinda like stock and the quality is probably better. I have 18,000 on my truck and it has been flawless so far. I never had a vehicle that didn't need anything but gas and oil for 18,000 always some thing to go to dealer for. Thanks again:D

Diesel Dog... .

I have 2 factory take offs that I have aquired in some wheeling and dealing for other things I wanted and needed to repair a gasser I bought to resell. If your interested drop me a note and we'll go from there. One in in good shape with minor scratches from road use(original truck was plowed in the rear) and the other is a like new take off with a light scratch on it(came off the truck we used for the cowl and drivers door). Let me know... ... Andy
