Well, it got me to WV and back, but I'm not sure how much it's got left. It started with a non-responsive go pedal, which is when I found the 216 with a 1200 miles to go . As I went to start it to go home with 725 miles to go almost stalled and threw a 1689 code. I made it home though without much trouble going 70-80 with the trailer on the back the whole way home, THANK GOD! :) I plan on calling Edge to see if they can test the Comp, maybe that has someting to do with it. But just in case, where are the best deals for new injection pumps now?

I had a similar experience this past jan. We were is south florida when we had a dead peddle on several -maybe 20 - times! I got out the travel companion and started calling for advice. We were also pulling a trailer.

It had the codes and we kept going. Got home and it acted really a lot like PMS for a month, then one day getting on the interstate it fell dead, belched two lanes of black smoke, shook and then settled down and has run great every since, codes are gone.

I then cleaned the battery posts, they needed it.

Don't get to quick to take it off!!

That timing error combined with the communication error usually signal a dead/dying VP44. Do you have a fuel pressure gauge, if so, what ar ethe readings? You can try and clean all the connections/grounds; if you have the pump wire tapped, you can try and clean that connection.

I have a feeling that it will take a new VP44 to fix this problem.
