Just wondering. . I filled my truck up until it clicked and then always add just a little more. DId this on TUesday. Normally I go 70-80 miles before peg come off of the full. I have only gone 65 miles and the ped had moved way more than it should. I topped off ofor fun and it took 5 gallons!! :--) My truck has been getting 20-22 Empty and 15-17 pulling. . Brand new oil change and fuel filter not to long ago... . Is it possible it didn't get as full as I thought ?? It did this once before when it only had about 10,000 on it. Now at 23,000. Has this ever happened to any of you??

That seems rather excessive all right. Was this (first filling) at a normal fill spot for you? It seems to happen to me on occasion, but I do not have the luxury of filling at the same place very often. BTW where in the homeland are you? WYOMING?

HOmeland, CA... . I fill up at about three different stations here in the area. The one I "Topped" off with this afternoon is the exact same one I filled up with on Tuesday. Same pump even. Maybe I should have taken it somewhere else????

I wouldn't think winter blend down here, but maybe they got a load of the wrong stuff?????? Is that possible? I didn't know they would sell winter blend in the sun belt. . LOLOL They certainly didn't advertise it as winter blend... . any other ideas?? Thanks for the ideas!

Wasn't sure where you were located!! I often wonder how much the auto shut off on the nozzle can vary. I think it is back pressure that turns it off and I would think there can be a lot a variance as they wear out and/or get beat around.

Up here in the frozen north all of our fuel is temperature corrected to 15deg C. When it is cold like today [-39 C] you will put more fuel in your tank than normal because of this.

These trucks are such a pain to fill all the way I can see this happening. I need to stand and milk the nozzle for an extra 10 minutes to see the fuel in the neck. Not an option is someone else is waiting, or a touchy nozzle. I know there is a bomb for this, but who wants to go thru dropping the tank in winter in spudland? Doc
