I do not like to street race, too dangerous. Well this GMC pulled up to me at a red light in a busy 30mph street. He sat there beside me reving his motor and lurching forward. Light turns green and off he went in a cloud of smoke. The lights are set up in this town to make you stop at every light, so I met him at the next light. Again he did the same thing, and again at the next light. Now I am getting tired of this and the people that has been behind us were most likely thinking that I am getting my butt kicked.
I am completely stock 3500 4x4 with about 500 pounds worth of camping stuff and a boat on top. He was a regular cab and empty. The speed limit was 40 mph past this light that we stopped at. So here he is reving up and lurching again. I reved my Cummins to let him know I was game. As soon as the opposing traffic light turned yellow he took off. Two seconds went by before I left on a green. He beat me through the intersection, he had a two second head start.
I caught up with him and passed him just on the other side of the intersection and left him behind. The last I saw of him, he was ducking into a church parking lot.
This is the first time I have street race since I was about 21 years old with a built 80 T-top Trans-am. I am against street racing in on a busy street, but this guy just pushed me too far.
My truck is now out of warenty, so maybe it is time to start bombing for the next time I get pushed
And yes I was grinning ear to ear, what fun.
