After months of doing research on all the brands of trucks, trying to sell my TWO trades private party, and being to three dealerships to try and trade them in on a new 2006 CTD, it finally happened last night. FIRST CTD, FIRST DIESEL. Oo. Wife and I drove home the new baby, a 2006 2500 QC LB SRW 4X4 3. 73 Big Horn CTD in Mineral Gray, at about 11 pm last night (ack  ). Hats off to my amazing wife for letting me, and really, allowing the deal to happen. :) She has perfect credit! :p

So the story goes: First, truck had to be 2006 MYr -- plus I have been trying to find an early invoiced (prior to Apr 2006) model that meets my needs, to get the extra $1,000 rebate for a grand total of $5000 in rebates. Trust me, that extra $ was integral for the deal to go thru, since I had two tough trades and wanted to minimize payment. My trades alone were a real headache and WOW am I glad to see them go. My research on this invaluable site and elsewhere allowed me to maximize our $$. A little luck also helped. I had a friend at this particular dealer, who told me he had two early '06s. When the day finally came to go see him, he was busy w/another customer. He handed me over to his colleague, who 'could not find' the early '06 -- only a white later build date unit in white! After they found out that I was a tough customer, low and behold, they pulled up that beautiful early '06 truck to the showroom front door! Bastages, seems to me they were holding this vehicle as long as they could, as a trump card for the tough sale. Hey, glad it was me! Acutally, overall I am very happy with the dealer, & I feel like I did pretty well considering how scarce the early invoiced '06s are in the pacific northwest. I have lots of questions, so I'm sure I'll be posting soon!

Congrats, this is my 3rd diesel but still the newest and most fun. My g/f and I bought ours together too, and didn't get out of the dealer til 11 pm! Congrats!

Congratulations on your new CTD.

I think CTD really stands for "Count The Dollars" as you being to accessorize your newly found passion. :)

Need pics. Didn't know there were any 06's left in the PNW. Congrats on the truck.

Also, checkout www.nwbombers.com.

LOTS of '06s left at many dealers, but the selection is poor. If you want a unit invoiced prior to Apr. 1st of 2006 (to get the extra $1,000), then they're as sparce as hen's teeth. Depends on what you want. I was pretty specific.
