FASS system has been working great so far. First question... it is normal for some oil to come out the weep hole in the bottom of the pump itself, right? I'm assuming its just some assembly oil from the factory. There wasn't an over abundance of it, and it didn't smell like fuel. Second... today I stopped at an atm machine and left the truck running. When I slammed the door shut after getting out, I could hear the sound of the FASS pump change pitch, and it went back and forth a few times between this new sound and its normal sound ( I think I have one of the noisy pumps by the way, not that that bothers me). So I grabbed hold of the side of the bed and rocked the truck back and forth and I could get it to do it again. Don't know if it was sucking air or not (I know, I really need to get a fp gauge:)). I do have a vulcan draw straw installed, but I had 1/2 a tank when this happened, and I've run it as lot as just below 1/8" with no problems. I was also parked on level ground when this happened. Made a couple other stops on the way home, left it running, and couldn't get it to act up again.

I don't pretend to know about the Dodge application but my loud Ford FASS lasted a total of 4 days before the motor burned out. The replacement just arrived tonight... poorly packaged and covered with diesel fuel!

Wow,

I am in the market for a lift pump. This is exactly why TDR is paying off for me in huge ways. Is this a common problem or just a freak occurance? I have been researching and the opinions seem to go both ways but this sure isnt making me want a FASS.

Good luck with your issue AFoulk. That's not a problem that I've heard of. I understand the concern. Hope it turns out not to be a big deal.

I've only had my FASS a few weeks. So far it's been whisper quiet and reliable. Mine arrived directly from FASS, and was packaged VERY well.

I know experience seems to vary wildly, but several of us here in Mid-Tenn have FASS setups with no known problems.

The glacier system appears to be very nice though I have never handled or seen one installed.

Wayne, you can check out my FASS when we get together to work on your Edge install. I also have a spare lift pump that you can have if you want it.

I have had a Fass on my truck for over a year, and I sell them to all my customers,no probs yet.

Sorry to hear about yours DZ, haven't heard of any others.

I know I read a post somewhere on here that a guy put a FASS system on and had a little bit of oil leak from his weep hole too, but I'm not sure it he decided it was just some assembly lube that worked its way out once the electric motor got hot or not. As for the way it sounded yesterday, it hasn't done it since, and I have no idea what would have caused it. I'm ordering gauges tonight, so hopefully once I get them and get them installed, I'll have an idea of how the things working.

I've been running my FASS for about a year know, with not one problem. For the money and warrenty, you can't go wrong. FYI, I have the 95GPH pump only, no air seperation system.
