Having a couple problems with the truck, taking it to the dealer Saturday, just wondering if anyone else is having similar problems.

Small one first... on top of the left front of bottom section of driver seat (near left knee) perforated leather is cracking right by the stitching, started about a month ago, about 3/4-1" long, not a big deal, but disappointing to say the least.

Sometimes, probably a dozen times since buying the truck at the first of the year... turn key to on, preheat light goes out, turn key to start and let go, truck cranks for a few seconds before finally starting and then runs rough for a few seconds. The rest of the time it starts instantly and runs smooth.

Check engine light came on a couple days after buying the truck, dealer said it was "no big deal. " Now it is on again and if I clear it with my scanner, it will stay off the whole time the truck is running or even if the engine is turned off, but the key stays in the on position. When the key is turned to the off position, the light comes on next time the engine is started. Code: P049D

Sorry, haven't been on lately, here is an update incase anyone comes across these same problems in the future...

Service guy said I need to bring the truck by during the week to have the service manager sign off on replacing the seat cover, he said it shouldn't be a problem to get it approved, but the manager has to do it. Dealer is 45 minutes away, hopefully some day soon I can get it by there during the week.

Spoke with the mechanic working on my truck, he said there is no issue here... sometimes the truck gets too much fuel at startup and will run rough. I will be keeping my eye on this, but it has not happened since item #3 has been resolved

Dealer replaced the EGR valve and flashed the ECM with an update, about two months and 5,000 more miles without further issue

Did you buy your truck from that dealer? I would call first and talk to the manager to save you a long trip. And if your answer to the question is "yes" then it would be the last truck I would buy from them, if they give you the run around.

BTW, make them note it in the service order, so there is proof it was during your warranty, and have them note it any time your there for any other service, for that matter. ;)

The no start issue is a known problem. There is a flash out that will fix it and some other shifting problems. My truck has done it for the last year. I am deleted so I will have to wait awhile before I go in to get the flash. I just crank it and do not wait for the grid heater to turn off.

But then I do live in SoCal so the heater is useless anyway.

I have had the same starting issue several times as well. Sounds like its running on 3 instead of 6 cylinders.

The paint is flaking off of my read differential cover in big 1 inch chunks. Less then 1 year old with 7,000 miles. My diff oil was full so I don’t think heat is the issue just poor paint prep.

Had the same code come up on mine tonite with 22,000 miles on the clock. Cleared it with my scanner and wrote it down. Will watch for it to come back.

Code came back a day later, seems like extended idling triggers it. It goes to dealer friday. Code stayed clear while driving around normal all day but then came on when idling in the road to camp.

Had it in to dealer today. Bad EGR valve. Seems to be a run of them. They said they have dont several lately. No luck on the high idle setting either.
