Today I went to a used car dealer looking for a 16 inch rim to fit my pickup. He wasn't there and I decided to look around a little bit. I noticed he has a first gen dodge Cummins sitting there. It a 6/91 build d250 reg cab LE auto. It has 303k on the ticker. The bod;y looks to be in good shape. Like I said, he wasn't there, so I couldn't ask or go for a test drive. So I'm curious as to what a good asking price would be for this pickup. Also, how reliable are these automatics? Thanks

303k is a little high but if properly maintained it's no problem.

If it has an intercooler, it's a 1991. 5 model with 4speed (3 + OD) auto.

Any signs of it having been used to tow loads? That would lower the price.

Anything dripping off the engine/trans?

Tires wearing evenly?

Those are some of the items affecting price. Give the group more details and you'll get better opinions.

The auto is fine if you're not towing and not dragging. The torque converter is sloppy and generates a lot of heat. If you're going to tow or if you want snappy performance out of it, you'll have to beef it up. At 303k, it's likely that it has already been rebuilt once.
