just got complete new dtt trans and 91%r convertor,everything billet,i was wondering if it is good or bad to install a manual converter locking switch , truck is mainly used for hotrodding around occasionaly go to the drag strip,and used to tow a trailer no more than 5000lbs.







the truck is a 99 3500 quad cab, drag comp,dd3,4 inch straight pipe,afe stage 2 intake,fass system,all the guages

Installing a lockup switch (mystery switch), is not bad, using it can be... :D If used wisely it won't cause any problems. If you shift locked between 2 and 3rd, well that will shock the drive train pretty hard. Forgetting to unlock the convertor when coming to a stop is also not a good idea. If I were you, I would put some miles on your new transmission and then decide if you want to put in a mystery switch. With a 91% convertor, I think you will find you really don't need a mystery switch. At the drag strip you will see lower E. T. 's, especially with a 99, because if I remember right it doesn't shift locked from 3rd to 4th at WOT. I'm sure someone will correct me on the 99 if I'm wrong. :D

If you can shift locked to locked all the way into 4th then your are more efficient in getting your power to the ground. Your transmission should be able to handle it.
