Death is the easy way out. Some of my co-workers are no longer with us due to the China Virus side effects of D E A T H. Another one survived and is now on Oxygen. One of the Vietnam Vets my dad served with also didn't make it through getting The China Virus. The hospitals here are not doing elective surgeries, again, as they are filling up with China Virus patients. This includes "elective" cancer tumor removal. o_O Yes, cancer that spreads to become deadly with short amounts of time is now 'elective procedures'. If you didn't get in during a narrow window in the past year your elective procedure is not happening now. China Virus is killing NOW: cancer kills later...

I know people from The Mayo Clinic who have gotten The China Virus Vaccine. Some don't want it as they already had the virus. Mayo has offered The Vaccine to all employees.

Not from the Fake News. This is first hand local experience.

Personally, I don’t understand not taking it. A vaccine is all that stopped small pox, polio, measles, hepatitis, and others.

No kidding. Many are too young to recall the horrors with the dread diseases that modern vaccines killed off.

The virus and vaccine being political isn't helping. We come out with a new flu vaccine Every Single Year. Celebrities and other ultra-rich people are trying to figure out how to get this vaccine and get turned down as money can't buy or bribe a place in line easily.

I can respect allergies and other medical reasons for not wanting (a) vaccine(s). However the antivax movement is starting to be successful in bringing back some of these nearly eradicated dread diseases. So is remote war torn countries that isn't safe to distribute vaccines in.

Bravo!

David with all due respect, this is not a credible source for scientific evidence. I think they are still recommending Chloroquine, which has been pretty thoroughly studied by now. "Nature", one of the most highly regarded scientific journals, published a meta-analysis of ALL the existing Covid/Chloroquine studies, with over 80 references, and concluded that there is no beneficial effect of Chloroquine for treatment of Covid.

As far as death or lingering effects from taking a Covid vax, odds seem pretty low, but we won't know for sure for a long time. However, approximately 10% or so of Covid survivors appear to be "long haulers". That also needs extensive further study, but I sure don't like those odds. Now that we got retired I don't want to be dragging an oxygen canister behind me when we are hiking.

We are all too old on this forum to worry about getting autism from the Covid vax. Bell's palsy is transient except in rare cases. There might be a few deaths from the vax, I don't know, but I think it's unlikely it will be more than a fraction of a percent.

I am with Tractorat, I want the vaccine, not the Covid.

Exactly my point. The numbers are skewed for political reasons and the left leaning media is the instigator. A 96 year old dies, happens to have tested positive for Covid and is counted as a Covid fatality. All positive test results is counted as a "case". If a person gets three tests and two of them are positive, that is two "cases". Why haven't there been any flu deaths reported this year? Was the current vaccine that good? Why isn't the death number in the US 400,000 higher than last year?

I'm not anti-vax. I've had plenty of shots over the years including pneumonia and shingles. I'm on the fence with the Covid one.

"That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence".

Therefore, dismissed.

A 96 year old dies, happens to have tested positive for Covid and is counted as a Covid fatality.

Only if COVID was a contributing factor.....and I would dare say, a 96 year old that dies while having COVID, VERY likely was caused by COVID.

All positive test results is counted as a "case". If a person gets three tests and two of them are positive, that is two "cases".

Incorrect.
Each person is counted as a case, regardless of how many times they test positive.

There have been, however you have to actually go look for that information if you truly want to know it. I just did a quick Google search, deaths have been reported. While lower than previous years, the reason should be obvious.

Why isn't the death number in the US 400,000 higher than last year?

Incorrect again.

I guess if you derive all your information about the media from the media you can develop all the statistics you need. It is morbid and insensitive, but the odds that a 96 year old is going to die in any given year, covid or not, is pretty high. If you don't believe the media leans left, well, that's on you.

You can get that information from places besides media outlets, the first one even cited its sources. The information is there for you if you choose to actually want to know it. Regardless, if you have information that proves it false, by all means, present it. Good luck.

Yep, that's true.....but, if they had COVID and it caused their death, THEY STILL DIED OF COVID whether they were due or not. Your bias is apparent, you are just grasping at straws to support your leanings now.

If you don't believe the media leans left, well, that's on you.

Well, except for the right leaning media, right? You know they both exist, right?

In my brief, non-scientific, non-conclusive analysis....I found that the far right leaning sites were FAR more likely to spread false information (lies, fake news, pseudoscience etc).....and there were more of them.

Left and right shouldn't really have any bearing on vaccine science. If we leave that out of it, at some point 100% of us will be exposed to Covid, a significant number of those will be lucky and not have symptoms or have mild symptoms, but some percentage will die, and some will have "long haul" symptoms. I think the risk of these poor outcomes is far higher post-Covid than the risk of adverse reaction to having a vax. Of course we don't really know long term since mRNA vax are new. Everyone has to decide for themselves. I mean the vaxes could turn out to be a disaster long term. But probably not too likely. I will take my chances with vax.

Not directly vaccine related;

I just got off the phone with my brother to let me know our 93 year old mother is positive and admitted to the hospital. Aside from the virus, she is in excellent health and initially her doctor was considering her release until they found a small patch of pneumonia in one lung. Her O2 saturation was 96 at rest but dropped to 89 with the walk test. Body aches and fatigue but no fever. I talked with her several days ago and she said that she just wasn't feeling her usual self, but then admitted that her housekeeper did not seem right on her last visit. Turns out, her housekeeper was admitted the following day and put on a respirator. I asked if she was making sure that her housekeeper was following the protocol my brother (the doc') put in place and she said yes..."you know your brother, my home looks like a surgical room." She went for a test the next day and it came back positive but it took several days to manifest. At this moment they have her on steroids, antibiotics and something like Resmer...? and only time will tell. My mom is a spry old gal' and she won't go down without a fight. It pisses me off I can't even fly up there to visit her because they won't let anyone in but attending staff, but I understand. Be kind to one another...you never know.
Best wishes to all

Well, I hope those that "don't want it" don't get it...its still a free country and as a bonus; Then I wont have to wait in line as long! Politics and BS aside.. I don't have the see the lord or the savior to believe in them sooo, I don't need to get COVID to believe in it... I will get it day one when its available and move on with my life.

BoeingDiesel.. I hope your mom gets well soon, my mom had a very bad case of pneumonia recently in WA state, and we were all on pins and needles.. (allegedly no COVID tho)

This is another thing that frustrate me with folks who don't take it seriously or dismisses those that "are old anyway". Those that it hits hard often spend their last days/weeks alone aside from overworked healthcare workers. I have to keep reminding my mom that this is why I don't visit much....and when I do, it's short, I wear a mask and keep my distance.....she keeps thinking I am doing it for my benefit, not hers (she's getting a bit of dementia).. I don't worry about myself, I had it, and it wasn't a big deal for me, I worry about others.

Boeing, best wishes to Ma. Thats a scary deal.
I know exactly how you feel about not being able to go see her - my son spent his 17 bday in the hospital, alone, for emergency surgery. It's a bum deal. Stay strong.
