NC Meet & Eat 10/16

Meet & Eat, 10/30, near Raleigh, NC

it starts at 7pm, will have the pro street, pro stock and super stock gas trucks. street gas, 7500 and under diesel class, 7500 and over diesel class. farm tractors. no telling what else... ... ... .....

i think it is right there in that memorial park. there will be signs up for it.

i heard tonite that there is going to be a pull on the 16th at atwood tn? do you know anything about it?

We'll be there. What highway do you take to get there. I am sure Red will take back roads, but I'll be coming in from dickson (I-40). Is this how you go? If so, what highway do you take off of I-40. Doesn't look like there is any easy way to get there from the interstate.

I haven't heard anything about a pull in Atwood. I am checking on it... let ya know.

Gap and Nick - sorry you guys couldn't make it to Hohenwald Saturday, we had a good time. Hey I'm planning on being at the Covington pull to meet you guys - I go to school in Memphis so I'll be in the area anyway.

Gap - The shortest & quickest route from Dickson to Covington is to take exit 66 off I-40. You'll go through Brownsville via Highway 54 and 54 takes you straight to Covington.

I'll send you a picture of the map and some turn-by-turn directions if I can figure out how to do it.

Directions

Well the email idea fell through. Here's the scoop - Take exit 66 which is HWY 70. 70 turns into HWY 54 when you pass the middle of Brownsville. It's a straight shot through Brownsville - takes you right down Main Street. And as I said, 54 takes you straight to Covington.

Here's a link to turn-by-turn directions.

Sorry the quality of the map's not so good - I can send you a blown up copy.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

HeavyHauler, We'll prolly end up coming through Brownsville as you mentioned. The orange colored HWY above on the screen shot from the tipton county pdf I have is HWY 54 from Brownsville. Be good to meet ya!

Hate I missed the meet. We'll blow some smoke in covington, just hope the transmission will hold our new found horsepower!

AWESOME - an event "just up the road" from my place!

Too bad I'm in Georgia now - but I plan to return home this weekend.

I'll try to make it there. Oo.

Red has already made plans to go out of town this weekend. But the truck is running so brother and I will be bringing it down without Red. I am sure will get a boot in the buttocks when Red gets back! Truck has about 2 miles on the new motor :) Don't have any idea how it's going to do with all the changes that has been made but we'll hook and see!

Hey guys, we've got an 80% chance of rain down here in Memphis Saturday and Saturday night. Supposed to get up to 3/4". Will they cancel this thing if it rains tomorrow? Nick you got any info?

i won't know anything until tomorrow. i'll try to post something about lunchtime. we need some rain up here, so if it quits raining before 2pm, it should be a go! nick

Hey guys, probably not gonna make it tonight. It's been raining in Memphis all day and doesn't look like it's gonna stop anytime soon. I don't want to drive 45 minutes over there and it rain it out. Maybe next time.

It didn't get rained out.

I had a good time, ran my first sled-pull and met a few local TDR members - and forgot all the names except "Piston Slapper"

I guess I didn't do too bad for a first-timer with a nearly stock truck and bald tires. I beat *both* of the trucks that broke! 245' LOL

It was a lot of fun to watch, except when one of our guys broke a transfer case.

Thanks Tim, Nice to meet you and your wife. Ya'll are good people. Glad you had fun paying omage to the sled gods. My wife says only Diesel Dorks would pay money to drag some big piece of Iron and tear there truck up... ... YEAH! :D

You didn't like much beating us!! It was a new truck to us, we was having traction issues. Couldn't get the truck to hook up, we was over powering the track when we finally got the turbo to light at the 150 ft mark :(

Thought ya'll would enjoy too... tach will go straight down! We haven't figured out how high it'll climb back up the other side yet?

That would be a sight to see - but I'm not sure you really want to see how high it wil go back up the other side! LOL

We had a blast watching the pull @ Covington. There were a bunch of hot trucks there! One recomendation: They should have let that poor 6. 5 pull with the gas burners!

Has anyone heard if they are going to have the charity pull in Brighton? One more execution (by suffocation) of West Nile Virus carrying mosquitos would be great!

I heard there was a charity pull in the works for late Oct. I was under the understanding a descision should have been made yeaterday. Haven't heard.....

Want to see one last display of P O W E R !
