I'm not much on a computer but here goes. I have a '92 and I noticed "squeeking" noise on passenger side. The cowling is cracked (badly). Seems I read about a plate you can buy and weld or bolt in to reinforce this area but I can't find it now. Can anyone help?

cab cowling cracks

I was lucky enough to have my local Dodge fix both of my cowling cracks when it was still under warranty. This is passe now but believe the Dodge agency's have a part # on this repair part. This part contours the area where the cracks are. Usually pop rivets are used with calking behind the insert. Hope this helps.

Hi Joe,

Welcome to TDR.

The TSB for cowl cracks is 23-63-94.

I think the cracks are more noticeable with the 4x4's because of the stiffer suspensions.

Hey,joewilson,Underdog again,

I got to thinking about my answer to your Cowl Crack

question. I was doing ok until the end, then the CRS kicked

in (I've had the disease for quite some time). The last "click"

should be "cowl crack fix for the first gen Dodge".

There is a parts list, directions and one picture. Somewhere

on that site there should be more pictures but,due to the

CRS,I can't help you. Sorry. :( :(
