cowl debris removal

1) How do you folks clean the debris out of the tray below the cowl slots?



2) How do you keep it clean besides not parking your truck under a red cedar tree.



We had a 67 Volvo 122S that rotted out after 30 years primarily because of debris that I neglected to keep out of nooks and crannies.
