Engine on eBay

I just wanted to forwarn anyone outthere that is on the cox high speed internet set up (cable modem for those a little 'slow' :) ) My wife last night fell for a doosy and I have spent 3 1/2 hours repairing it, so I thought I would let everyone else know what not to do. She opened an email that said it was from Cox. Support. Net and in it she had to open an attachment that told her that 'they were closing our email account in 3 days due to reports of spam mail being sent from that email address). Well what actually happend is she inadvertantly downloaded a worm that started sending spam mail at a rate of 100 emails per 10 min. Naturally is almost brought my computer to a dead halt, it also corrupted my anti-virus program and stopped it from working. I have obviously corrected the problem and things seem to be back in order. I just wanted to let everyone out there esspecially anyone using cox cable know about this little email, so that you can warn your family and friends about it so they don't fall for it as well.

That's not just Cox - it's a virus out there and could come to anyone from what looks like their provider. I've gotten about 8 of those in the last week from mine. It's not actually coming from them - it's spoofed to their address.

I get the same messages from -- email address removed -- (sample only). I have my own domain, so I the admin.
