And whether you're "hunting" them or just passing through. I've seen the majority of coyotes killed in broad daylight on our farm at between 200-300 yards...



That's why I anted to start hunting them... I wanted to be able to make it happen, rather than just waiting for opporitunity.

It's a Remington 700 in 6mm with a Nightforce scope. More than what's needed and unfortunately I have gone 3 times and never have seen one while hunting.

Yeah hunting, shooting and reloading are some of my other addictions. Went coyote hunting once this year didn't see crap. Use a 223 Remington in Remington 700. Also have this big idea to use my 260 Rem for coyotes too. Rather have that than a 243 Win. I like the bullet selection 85 grains to 160 grain. Its hard because I could talk about rifles as well as Dodge/diesel. You just have to have the patience I really want to get my first coyote. Randy Anderson of late seems to be the guru on coyote hunting. Got a couple of his DVD's and they are really interesting.

What kind of accuracy and range are you all seeing from your . 17HMR?



I've had trouble grouping mine at 100. . I've seen everything from 1MOA to 2MOA 3 shot groups. . 5 shot groups will group 1 MOA for 4 shots and regularly have 1 flyer (1 inch out of the group)



Anyone know where I could find a savage action? I didn't know Ebay had firearm parts until last week... . It looks like I could build a tack driver out of ebay specials.

one thing i've noticed with my savage and seen in posts the 17hmr doesn't like to be cleaned and takes a while to settle down, it shoots better then i do, the stock savage trigger sucks bad but with some polishing and a couple shims in a couple different places it's pretty good for free
