While changing the oil on my totally stock 2004. 5 yesterday, I observed that the front left corner of the block was wet with diesel fuel, right in front of the ECM. There were also a few drips present on the crank sensor harness & related connectors that are located right in that area. Definitely #2 diesel fuel.

The bottom of the CP3 did not have any visible drips, but looked like it had a wet film of fuel on it. The fuel lines on top are dry at the fittings and on the tubes. When I started the truck I did not see any new drips being formed- at idle.

Has anyone seen this before? Any recommendations on what the root cause is? The truck only has 40K miles on it, so the leak surprises me?

The CP3 has many O-rings ,two front seals , 3 plugs ,2 washers,When the temps drop its much easier for fuel to leak. its the time that effects the O-ring and seals. When it warms up it may stop,if the temps drop it will leak more. New seal and O-ring kit and it should be good for another X years.

Thanks TWest,

That sounds reasonable. Since this is barey a fuel "weep", in your opinion, will this cause me drivability problems or unwanted failure until I can put a seal kit in? The weather is very cold now and I hope to be able to get by until early spring.

I don't have a nice warm shop...
