Just pulled out the driveway got 1/2 way up the street and the truck died/ no cough, no smoke, engine just quit/ have 04. 5 3500 srw 60k completely stock/engine turns over but no fuel out the exaust smell, ie no fuel to injectors/ drained fuel bowl, refills quickly from LP/

removed the banjo cap bolt from the top of the common rail and cranked engine, no fuel spilling from rail/

Is there a sensor or valve that closes not allowing fuel from the filter bowl to the rail?? Is there a way to inspect if the gear pump cp3 is spinning when the engine is turning over???

If it is the cp3, whats my best option for replacement,rebuild or upgrade??TIA

Kind of sad seeing an old post like this, mostly to see old posters who are no longer members, lot's of lost knowledge.

Thanks for the replies/ first thing was fuel filter drain, check for water and replaced w/ new filter(ie)bowl refilling quickly w/ fuel/ So, there is a full filter bowl/

Any other suggestions?? TIA/ Warren
