We just got back from our winter trip on Tuesday. Today I changed oil, fuel filter, etc. and as I was under the front end I saw fuel dripping from the CP3. :rolleyes: Just what I needed. I've only got 11K on the truck.

What's been the experience of others with this problem? Did the dealer have the pump in stock or did they have to order it? I'll be calling for an appointment on Monday. My truck is stock but I have gauges, I suppose they'll be looking for mods that aren't there.

My dealer claimed there WAS no leak, until I dragged the tech under the truck and showed him (and got his finger with with) the leaking fuel. He then saw my gauges, asked if I had any mods (I do not), then he called STAR, and they authorized the replacement. It then took about three weeks to get the part.

Good luck... :-{}

Mine was leaking for about 10K miles. Had it replaced under warranty at 34K. Took 3 days to get a new one. But I picked it up and drove it until it came in, none of the "buisness link" trucks had a tow package. :rolleyes: :confused:

Mine started leaking around the 20,000 mile mark. I took it in to get the updated door seals and have them look at the CP3 pump. It took a month for the pump to come in, but when it did they were able to do it in one day.

After it was done the ticking noise was gone, no more long starts and just an overall better driveability.

I was worried about my very noticeable mods, but it all worked out.

My truck only has 4500 miles on it (only comes out to pull my 5vr) & I noticed a spot on the shop floor about the size of a silver dollar. Crawled underneath. Yup diesel fuel, the wireing harness to a sensor is wet. Think I'll see about getting it replaced before summer hits.

It's kind of funny, actually not really, that star makes injectors and cp3 problems "super top-secret gotta have the ok from star" items. And these items more than any other seem to get the fueling mod police working overtime in an effort to blame the owner for the problem. Three weeks for a dealer to get a part is horse****. Star reminds me of the IRS!!

Yea way too much power & control over the dealer. Way to much control over our warranty.
