Just curious, how many of you have had a leaking CP3? My first 06 dealer put 2 on that one now my second 06 is leaking#@$%! They leak between the two halves of the pump. Just wondering if its my luck or this is a problem cause its getting old.

Mine was replaced around 30k... been fine, have 175k on the truck now.

Someone mentioned that you can replace an oring to solve the issue... but it requires taking the CP3 apart. That was just posted a few weeks ago.

Its a problem cuz its getting "cold" not old. Mine leaks in the winter, quits when its warm and its the upgraded pump. Seems to be the norm for these pumps when aluminum is mated to cast iron.

A member found all the o-rings sizes and upsized them to stop the leaking. AFAIK, it worked better than OEM. Does require disassembly of the pump though.

Thanks for the info. They have been replacing the pumps under warranty but I was wondering what I can do after warranty is up. I'll keep searching for the o-rings and get them on hand. Thanks!

My 2 cents worth is that its not cold, heat or age related... we've got 4 trucks, all with lots of miles in up to -30* weather and up to 115* summer heat... and 300K miles with hundreds of hours idling... and no problems... .

For us and our trucks we've not had problems...

Back when mine was almost new, My CP3 leaked, as well as every other 04. 5 model I knew of in person and here on the TDR. I went back and looked but couldn't find the thread...

It seemed that Bosch had a bad run of pumps. I keep contact with one other 04. 5 owner in person, and we havent had a problem since that warranty replacment.
