'Nother SMARTY Question

the stage 1 cp3 is ready and we are takeing orders, complete packages are here as well- a matching fuel system! , flow charts are complete with every kit that is ordered, yes there is a core charge as well. after 500HP a stage 1 is suggested, and can supply fuel for over 700HP+ appox. rail cap is also available, it will give an extra 2-3000psi over your current set-up, stock or mod!! dyno's will be next! any questions? thanks Oo. :-laf

for those that are worried about excess pressure, would you guys be interested in a feature that would limit or adjust the pressure needed or wanted, other than a higher pressure rated relief valve, or both??? thanks :-laf

Having the ability to adjust the pressure would be pretty slick. A relief valve rated for higher pressure would be much better than just a cap... That way, if the manure hits the fan and the rail pressure goes sky high - you're not going to blow stuff apart.

definitely, however it would have to be strong enough to take the abuse of being used frequently. the stock ones slowly wear out every time they have to open.

edit: unless of course you are talking about electronically conrtolling the pressure from the cp3 itself. :D

i just want to see what is of interest to you guys, control the pressure by electronics and cap the rail or get a opperable high pressure relief valve and leave the electronics alone? thanks :-laf

For those looking to save some $$$, capping the pressure electronically would be the way to go. It would be nice to control what our pressure boxes are commanding. Injectors (IMO) are something to worry about too when using pressure.

For those that don't worry about injector longevity, a rail valve that can operate on a regular basis would be good. I've read that the Cummins marine rail pressure relief valve can do this...

for those who want to race the rail cap is for you but for those who dont want to race are stuck with the stocker that needs to be replaced often, or they run the rail cap and dont want to replace there injectors, its a tough spot to be in and i understand. be assured that new things are being tested and built daily, we are on top of things. i want to see where the demand is? i need more replies!! thanks :-laf

please send me a p. m. on pricing, i have a good core with only 55,000 miles on it in good working condition, i also have one for a newer year with only 2,000 miles on the truck right now, i am interested in the stage one and two pumps, if it works like you say, i am pretty sure i can sell at least 3 more in my town pretty quickly... it would be interesting to have an adjustable relief valve like you see on many hydrualic systems that handle going to relief more than 100 times/day for 30,000 hours of continuos work without failure and a respectable price too...

your sig says you have a custom cp3 please explain! im curious. thanks :-laf

the way we are doing this is as follows, core pump is rebuilt and tested to assure stock pressures, then modded, then retested to meet our pressures, then sent out. !! no personal pumps are being brought in as it would be immmpossible to track all of them, the end result is the same a new modded pump. and a year warranty!! thanks :-laf

i have a cp3 for the 610 motor on my 555 motor, the pump has been torn down and has a few simple mods to help it flow a little more, there was a definite improvement but not enough anymore, i need more fuel !!!!, my twins arent even beginning to be worked yet, or at least what i call worked... pulling a 22 ft tandem axle trailer with an 06 cummins quad cab 4x4 on it, i can barely outrun a stock empty 610 on flat ground and he catches me on the hills, tst on 3x2 loaded and might hit 1200 deg at 60lbs boost... ...

I would like to have the fuel pressure but don't want to go over 30K psi. can the pressure be controlled electronically to keep the WOT letoff from spiking the fuel pressure? I definitely need some sort of relief valve.

scrappy,

to be truthful you should not worry about the stage 1 it's the stage 2 and up that have unreal pressure, stage 1 will spike to 32,000 max and then settle down to 20-22,000psi constant with the stocker you can see up to 28k but it wont hold the pressure, it drops down to 10 -14,000 psi, we are working on other ways to relief pressure, but for now the rail cap is all we have, on stage 1 it would be fine, by my book. if you want you can just use the stock relief valve and enjoy the constant pressure the cp3 mods deliver. thanks :-laf

yea if your running the rail dry then its time for our cp3 mods--it wont run dry again, on your power level!! thanks :-laf

i can definitely run the rail dry, i want to sled pull on 9x9 with a little ts pressure... oh yeah, and still have streetability and reliability to be a daily driver...
