I was told by a certain Vendor this weekend (you know who you are) that their CPC fueling box will give you 2 MPG increase even if you use the extra power.

Evidently they are the only Company in the known universe that has license to violate the first law of thermodynamics (conservation of energy principal) How ignorant! If anyone tries to sell me anything and lies to my face like that they will never get my business.

sorry, I just had to vent a little.

Might be possible if they're using the overhead "trip computer" for a mpg reference.

Of course we ALL know computers NEVER lie..... right?

I agree with this completely. If you use the extra power, fuel economy will definately go down.

Brian,

I have a question... I have been learning as much as I can about the SAE J1939 Protocol that the ECM and VP-44 use to communicate. Could you check and see what the values the VP-44 accepts as valid data for data bits 5 through 13 in the Protocol?

TIA

I am also very skeptical about improved fuel economy claims whether it be from; a salesperson, or product literature, but surprisingly I saw a gain of . 5 MPG @ 75 MPH. Maybe that 2 MPG was @ 55 MPH, on a straight and level road, and with a good tail wind, he, he, :D :p :D

My Bullydog version of the CPC definitely makes the MPG go south to the tune of at least 0. 5mpg with normal driving and 2 mpg when you have fun with it.
