I just purchased a 2012 6.7 and so far so good. The only complaint is the fuel milage, which I am in the process of getting all parts for delete. My question is where can I find the CPL number to give to cummins to get the correct fuel and oil filter? I know on my old 02 it was on the gear housing in plain sight. With all the crap on this engine I can't seem to locate it. Need some help.
Thanks
Steve

Go to Geno's, they have all filters and small parts you will ever need.
Geno's Garage
What does CPL mean? Concealed License Permit.

I would use Geno's Garage.com for the proper fuel and oil filters for your truck. Your oil filter part number is LF16035 $13.95 which is the StrataPore filter which is the better of the two filters for your truck the other is a standard oil filter LF3972 $8.95.
Most of us use the StrataPore filter for our trucks. This filter fits the following years 1989-2015 and the 5.9L and 6.7L engines.

Now the fuel filter for your truck that I would suggest would be the Nanonet fuel filter at a 3 micron rating. This would be either the Mopar filter FS_MOP68157291AA $60.95 or the Fleetguard filter FS530000 $73.95. Fleetguard makes the Mopar filter but it is re-badge to say Mopar on the can.

I seen that in their catalog and was going that route at Cummins. But if you order a water pump, valve cover gasket, CCV filter, etc. Cummins always needed the engine ID to find the correct parts. At least my Cummins store did.

Jim is spot on!

Geno's is a great place to buy parts for our RAM/CUMMINS. FYI the people that own this website own Geno's.

I understand that as I am a subcriber to the TDR and got a lot of my "add-on" parts from Geno's. Great people, service and fast delivery. My local Cummins store is on my way home is the only reason for asking.
