I think I know what the term "crack a couple of injectors" means just unsure on how to do it etc. Does this usually get fuel all over the engine? Do you just loosen the nut that the fuel line goes into or? Need some information on this subject.

Thanks - Dean

I crack 1 and 3. 1 being the closest to the radiator. You got it just loosen the big nut on the fuel line. It requires a 19 mm wrench and some fuel does leak on the head. It is for removing air from the system.

Warning

"HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LINES DELIVER

DIESEL FUEL UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE FROM

THE INJECTION PUMP TO THE FUEL INJECTORS.

THIS MAY BE AS HIGH AS 120,000 KPA (17,405

PSI). USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN INSPECTING

FOR HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LEAKS. INSPECT FOR

HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL LEAKS WITH A SHEET OF

CARDBOARD. HIGH FUEL INJECTION PRESSURE

CAN CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY IF CONTACT IS

MADE WITH THE SKIN. "

In other words, if you are just bleeding air out of the lines, do this by bumping the starter (turn key to start for . 10 seconds, then leave in the "on" position) and let the LP run it's cycle for 30ish seconds. I crack (much as I would for brake bleeding - not much) 1, 3, 4, 5, - cycle the pump, and watch for fuel to start gurgling. If you do this several times and no fuel, loosen the nuts about two or three turns, jiggle the fuel line, tighten the nuts until they touch, then back about a 1/4, then cycle the pump again.
