Engine Brake?

I got my truck back this afternoon. 11 miles on the new engine and so far no problems.

The service manager orginally told me about 3 weeks and it only took less than a week and a half to get it done.

No new dents or paint scratches on the truck and absoultely no charge. I was expecting to pay for something they decided I would need.

I have never had such a trouble free experience in dealing with any repair shop or any service organization before.

I looked the installation over really well and don't see anything out of place. I guess time will tell. I'll see if it will make the next 11 miles on the way to work tomorrow. :D

Valkyrie, great to hear you are back on the road. Nothing is sweeter than getting your rig back after going without it for awhile! And the anxiety of it being in the dealer's hands. I'm glad they got you squared away properly. Just remember to give it a proper break-in since you basically have a new engine.

I asked the service manager about the breakin period. He said its all done at the factory. Just drive it normal.

I'm guessing that they must spin it up to seat the rings. There was an engine rebuilding shop in one of the southern suburbs of San Diego that had a very large electric motor and would bath the short block in oil and spin it. Not sure what happend to them.

Anyway, I do plan to drive it like a new motor. AND put my VA back on.
