Pit,

My block, and ProZack's block do not say TUPY, or Teksid, they say TOHOL1. We are trying to figure out what kinda block we got. Just wondering.

My understanding is that if you don't have a casting number of #53,54,55,56 then you have a Mexican block. If you get under the front, driver side of your truck and use a flash light it is easy to see the casting number " 1 inch high" on the side of the block under the VP44 and next to the wiring loom. It was on my 2002 and there was "NO" casting number on my 2000. My 2000 had a smaller series of numbers about 1/2 inch high that was hard to read. My 2000 was a Mexican block. I don't know what the letters THOL1 mean?? Sorry If you don't have a casting number you have a Mexican block. If someone does not look in the right place or just misses it altogether then they will think they have a Mexican block and "feel" better. Obviously all of the #53 blocks don't crack.
